Do you know when a company is required to keep a register of employees exposed to harmful factors?
December 19, 2025This is an official document in which the employer records employees who are or may be exposed to factors harmful to health. The register is necessary to enable future identification of exposure, assessment of the origin of occupational diseases, and planning of risk-reduction measures.
The main situations when the register is mandatory:
➡️ Exposure to asbestos dust - during renovation, demolition, insulation removal, or work with old pipelines.
➡️ Work with lead or lead compounds - when removing old paints or coatings, or maintaining metal structures.
➡️ Long-term exposure to hardwood dust - in carpentry workshops, floor sanding, or furniture manufacturing.
➡️ Exposure to dust and fumes from tar, soot, or combustion products - in chimney maintenance or industrial boiler areas.
➡️ Contact with biological agents in risk groups 3 or 4 - in cleaning, healthcare, laboratory, or waste management work.
➡️ Work with carcinogenic or mutagenic chemical substances - in surface treatment, certain painting tasks, or manufacturing processes.
