Working at height and fall protection

In Norway, all workers climbing to heights of more than 2 metres where there is no additional protection (e.g. a guardrail to prevent a fall to a lower level) are required to have a Norwegian Working at Height and Fall Protection Certificate.

This year there will be changes to the training requirements, but as members of the Norwegian Association of Instructors, we already know the planned requirements and we are training according to the updated 2023 syllabus, so you won't have to re-take our courses again!

If you work without this certificate, the Labour Inspectorate can fine your employer 50,000kr and suspend the work you are doing.

About the course

This course is intended for employees who work at height or in areas where there is a risk of falling.

Falls from a height are one of the most common causes of serious accidents, so it is important to know how to plan work properly and use protective equipment.

During the course, we discuss fall risk assessment, collective and personal protective measures, the organisation of safe working practices and employees’ responsibilities.

It is relevant to construction, installation, maintenance, roofing, façade work and other tasks where workers are working at a height or near unprotected edges.
